There is no greater outback destination than the Northern Territory for those looking to make a connection with nature. The environment ebbs and flows with the seasons, of contrast and colour, where change is the only constant. The Northern Territory outback is dominated by the mighty Uluru, a towering monolith with mystical tales of the Aborigines and where centuries-old rock paintings are waiting to be discovered. Further north just a short drive from Darwin experience the wilds of Kakadu National Park with its rugged beauty and bio – diversity at it’s very best. There are some excellent areas of Australia to discover on your Australian Rail and Train Journey. You can traverse the length and breadth of Australia from Darwin to Adelaide or from Perth to Sydney. The Legendary Ghan travels from Darwin in The Top End (Darwin) through the heart of the Australian outback to Alice Springs, the gateway to Uluru on to Adelaide in the South. In New South Wales you can travel to the Blue Mountains to Broken Hill, Sydney to Canberra, The Northern Coast and into the outback.
