Travel to Mornington Peninsula an hour’s drive south from Melbourne, the eastern side of Port Phillip Bay is formed by the Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne’s beach and ocean playground.  Sorrento and Portsea on the Mornington Peninsula offers a sophisticated beachside lifestyle, you will find quaint townships renowned for arts and crafts, speciality shops, historic buildings, antique shops, galleries, cafes and a variety of coastal walking trails. Phillip island not really part of Port Phillip Bay but lies just to the east of the Mornington Peninsula and is a popular spot for bushwalkers, bird watchers, rock climbers, surfers and fishermen. The famous sunset parade of the Little Fairy Penguins at Summerland Beach and the Koala conservation centre combined with Nobbies and the Blowhole on the western tip are all very popular attractions and should not be missed.
